Welcome to my home of LePèlerin, where I explore the rich, diverse, and ever-evolving world of specialty coffee. 


My journey began many years ago in San Francisco, when a spontaneous visit to Chestnut Coffee Roaster completely transformed my perception of coffee. The complex flavors and unique tasting notes I discovered that day were unlike anything I'd experienced before. From that moment on, I became obsessed with understanding what made artisanal coffee so different from the mass-produced brands most people are familiar with.

Here, I share my experiences and knowledge to help others uncover the beauty of specialty coffee. I believe coffee should be treated with the utmost care and respect—and that all the incredible people who contribute to its creation deserve recognition. From the farmers who cultivate the beans, to the traders who bring them to market, the roasters who craft their profiles, the baristas who turn them into art, and the coffee lovers who appreciate every sip—we're all part of one beautiful, global story.

Coffee is a deeply nuanced beverage, with more aromas than wine and subtler taste tones than cognac—when curated properly. Sadly, many people have never experienced coffee this way. In a fast-paced world, we often miss out on the quiet joys of life, like the pleasure of a perfectly brewed cup. That’s why I’m dedicated to exploring—and sharing—the depth and diversity of the coffee universe.

Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of coffee: reading extensively, attending global events, learning from top-tier baristas, and training with world-champion coffee experts. My exploration has taken me from the vibrant café culture of Australia to the mountainous farms of Bolivia, to the precision-focused roasters of Japan and Norway. Eventually, my journey led me to open my own artisan coffee roastery—Kaffeerösterei. There, we carefully sourced and roasted exceptional beans from around the world, experiment with different roast profiles and brew methods, and even create very own signature drinks. Every bean should have been treated with purpose, every roast with intention.
